Artist Statement
“Art is visual poetry to me, a means to communicate that which cannot be articulated by words or a representational photo alone. I primarily use acrylics, marker, and pen & ink, as well as watercolors, collage, mixed and digital media. My styles range widely from realistic to decorative and stylized to colorfully expressionistic. Much of my work is informed by the natural world and a sense of the interconnectedness of all things. I’m also especially fond of using birds in my artwork. They are beautiful creatures, and powerful symbols for perseverance, hope, freedom and rebirth.”
